Steel City patron saint Mario Lemieux and shady creepster Ron Burkle, co-owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins, approached the Pittsburgh Pirates with an "unsolicited offer" to buy the MLB team, according to the Post-Gazette.
I have never liked Mario Lemieux. The genesis for this hatred was in 1992 when he, along with Jaromir Jagr and the rest of the Pittsburgh Penguins, swept the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals. It was the first year I followed hockey, and it was a rather rude introduction.
